Webb Mill
Webb Mill postcard

In 1843 when Josiah Webb and Josiah Twombley began to manufacture chocolate in Milton, Walter Baker suspected an employee of sharing his chocolate making secrets with them. After enjoying a successful run of almost 40 years in the chocolate business Josiah Webb (by then sole owner of Josiah Webb & Co.) decided to retire and sold the company to his competitor Baker's. In 1882 Walter Baker & Co. built the present brick mill, designed by Bradlee & Winslow, naming it "Webb Mill" in honor of Milton chocolate maker Josiah Webb.
