postcard of Maine Baptist Colportage Wagon with Rev. Nathan Hunt

Rev. Nathan Hunt, founding pastor of the First Baptist Church of Milton, died in Morrill, Maine at age 76.  The ruins of the old Hunt homestead on Hillside Street near Houghton's Pond, his boyhood home, were still visible at the time of his death in 1925.  Following his education in the Milton schools, Hunt attended Newton Theological Seminary for his ministry training.  According to his obituary, "He left his footprints wherever he touched the sands of Time."
