In preparation for a year of commemorating the bicentennial of the Suffolk Resolves, the Milton Historical Commission publishes a pamphlet, The Story of the Suffolk Resolves, in which Milton Historical Society president, Charles R. Morris expands a paper presented by Mary Phillips Webster in the 1899 commemoration.

Morris notes: "The authenticity of the house, once doubted, has been established beyond question by the researches of the late Colonel Edward P. Hamilton."
