Sept 9: In the parlor of the modern Suffolk Resolves House, Nathaniel F. Safford (born 1815), the house's owner and a director of the New England Historical Genealogical Society, gathers an esteemed group to commemorate the centennial of the Suffolk Resolves. In attendance:- Edmund J. Baker, born 1804, local historian, founder and president of the Dorchester Antiquarian Society, and grandson of Daniel Vose, calls the meeting to order.
- US Congressman Henry L. Pierce, born 1825, great-grandson of Daniel Vose -- and between terms as mayor of Boston -- chairs the meeting.
- James Murray Robbins, born 1796, local Revolutionary War expert, gives the opening address.
- Edward L. Pierce, born 1829, historian and great-grandson of Daniel Vose
- D.T.V. Huntoon, born 1842, local historian, founder and president of the Canton Historical Society, and great-grandson of Daniel Vose.
